Bereavement

Bereavement

In ELSA we have been trained in supporting children that have or will experience loss.
Whether it is a death of a family member or pet, a friend moving away or a break in the family unit, the affect on the child can be experienced in many different ways.
We support each child as an individual, using resources such as books, memory boxes and jars.

But most importantly of all, we give them the time to talk in a safe environment and to somebody they can trust.
As each child and situation is different, some children will need more intervention than others.
In some cases we will ask a parent permission to refer to Mosaic, Mosaic is a local charity that works with children that have experienced a death of a loved one, they work with both the child and often the family, this can be done at home or in school.
